How to Start or Get Back Into a Wellness Routine
Maintaining a wellness routine can be hard, and sometimes it seems like right when you’re getting into the groove something occurs that makes you fall out of your routine. Life happens to all of us, but it’s not the end of the world.
I want to give you some tips to help you get into a wellness routine or get back on track if you have established one. These are practices that I have implemented as I’ve established my routine and gotten back into routine as things occur that may throw me off course.
Take time to evaluate where you are in your journey and what you need to be the best version of you, don’t think you have to pick up where you left off or immediately go all in.
Instead of thinking about what you need to stop doing think about what you can add. We can all benefit from more veggies, drinking more water, or getting more sleep.
Document your day. Its helpful to keep a wellness journal to see what you are eating, around what time you’re working out, how long you are sleeping and habits that you practice throughout the day, so that you can look back and see what’s working and what’s not. It gives you a guide to help you along the way and adjust to what works best for you!
Start with small realistic goals and pick a healthy habit to start your day with. How we start and end our day can be a huge part of establishing a routine, so starting small and establishing a practice to start and end your day can put you on the right track to establishing a full routine!
Give yourself grace, we are aiming for progression over perfection, don’t be too hard on yourself. Some days will be harder than others and thats okay!
Just start! Often time we have a “perfect” time to begin our routine in mind, a monday, the beginning of the month etc. No, start as soon as you are inspired to do so! Rather its the middle of the week or end of the month the perfect time is now.
I hope you find these tips helpful along your wellness journey!
