Positive Self Talk: Self validating, Self affirming, Self love

Lets talk “Positive Self Talk” The way you speak to yourself is so important. That inner voice is one you hear often and can completely effect how you approach situations, your confidence and mood.

What is positive self talk? It’s not being a narcissist or deceiving yourself. It’s showing yourself some self love and understanding for the person that you are. Its giving yourself grace for the challenges you face in life and how you approach them and over come them. Its showing self appreciation.

Just as there is positive self talk there is also negative self talk. You can be realistic when speaking to yourself about a difficult situation without putting yourself down with your thoughts. For example instead of saying. “Im getting so fat and Ive been eating horribly. I will never meet my weight loss goals eating like this

You could say

I’ve gained some weight that Im not happy with, but I have a plan and as long as I hold my self accountable I can stick to it!”

Its scientifically proven that speaking to yourself in a positive tone actually makes accomplishing goals more likely.
